2008 KXF 250 - A Good Buy?

I'm looking at buying a 2008 KXF 250 but I've heard mixed opinions about that model. Does anyone have any experience with one that can tell me a bit about the performance and reliability, maintenance costs etc? My mate reckons they are one of the fastest bikes of that year. Any advice would be appreciated.
