Knee Surgery On A 15 Year Old

Of summer 2009 I was riding my dirt bike and all of a sudden I took my eye off and put it on another rider. Out of the blue I crashed my bike into a post I was in so much pain I didn't know what to do. My brother went up to get my dad I felt where I hit and there was a big gap in my knee, I said to myself I am going to need to go to hospital.

So my dad took me back to my house and I couldn't put my knee out straight. I gave it a day but had to go to the hospital. They took an x ray and I looked at it, I was shocked when they said I have to have surgery. They told me I had shattered and broken my knee cap in half. I was so scared I was crying so they put a cast on my leg and sent me home.

When I got home I couldn't speak. I have never had an operation before so my mum and dad said I will be ok. After the operation a couple of weeks later I was in so much pain because they tried to put my knee back together and put wires in it.

A few months after my knee was healing I still have the wires in and they are doing my head in! I can't wait to get them out. I love my dirt bike so much, I have so much fun on it. I am getting back on it in summer of 2010 if my knee is strong enough. Well guys that is it by Laura Mc Mullan - aged 15.
