2011 KTM 250SX - A beautiful thing
I was just checking up on the impressive new 2011 KTM range of dirt bikes. Geez those guys are producing some cutting edge weapons! While the big "Japanese Four" have only updated their four stroke motocrossers and are still selling off previous years stock, KTM have supplied us all with a huge range of shiny new 2011 steeds.
KTM seem to be taking huge leaps and strides forward in the off-road motorcycle world and are constantly improving on their previous models. I'm sure most people would agree with me when I say that they are "standing out from the crowd" and producing some of the highest quality competition dirt bikes out there.
That being the case I think this next statement made by KTM themselves carries a huge amount of weight in regards to this whole two stroke vs four stroke thing...
September 2010:
"For years KTM has committed to the development of 2-stroke engines which are an advantage against 4-strokes in many aspects. With an unbeatable power-to-weight ratio, lower cost of acquisition and easy to maintain and service – there is no better choice than a two-stroke.Anyone want to argue with the manufacturer? It's an interesting world we live in and not everything is as it seems... especially when money and politics are involved.
