History Of TM Dirt Bikes - Specs On The 2010 Range

Unlike the 'Big 4' Jap bike manufacturers, TM dirt bikes have only been around for a relatively short time. This is probably one of the reasons why many dirt bike riders have never heard of them. But that is slowly changing...

TM motorcycles are born and bred Italian Stallions that arrive fresh out of the crate sizzling with high end, premium components. Designed and manufactured by perfectionists for race competitors and connoisseurs of quality motorcycles - a TM dirt bike will also help empty your pockets with a 'larger than normal' price tag.

How did it all begin you ask? Well, two childhood Italian friends, Claudio Flenghi and Francesco Batistelli shared the passion for motorcycles from a young age. After tinkering with their friends bikes and working in various mechanical departments over the years they decided to assemble an Aermacchi motorcycle together. Battistelli entered a race on it and won the regional championship in 1976. Not long after this they decided to use Flenghis expertise in engine design and Battistellis knowledge in building frames to put together one of their own creations. The combination worked unexpectedly well and by 1977 the company 'TM' was formed using the initials of both their sons - Thomas and Mirko - how nice! They promptly acquired a young and promising rider, Gastone Serafini, who brought expertise and racing results to the newly formed company and eventually took over from Batistelli in 1982 when he legged it.

Today they are still producing a broad range of super reliable TM dirt bikes from their factory in Pesaro, Italy. Let's take a peek at some of their latest weapons...
