Two Strokes Are a Superior Machine

by J
(Cowlitz)

I've done the dirt bike thing my whole life and I can tell you as an owner of both a 06 yz250 two stroke and a 08 ktm530 four stroke that the two stroke is a superior piece of engineering in almost every category! It is WAY faster from zero to 30 mph which is where most riding takes place, requires next to zero maintenance, can be ridden at full throttle for hours on end at 10,000 rpms in the sand with no deteriorating effects to the engine, has less gyroscopic effect, and weighs 211 pounds!

I race mine, and trail ride, and it is unbelievable how well it works for both! It does however require more skill to operate, and a different riding technique and style than a four stroke.
