Tim, you have presented a lot of thoughtful information. The 2 stroke is the preferred engine for bush type racing in Western Canada because it is much lighter than the 4 stroke. However the cost to rebuild a 2 stroke engine is about 2 times less than a four stroke, so I believe that the manufacturers and our governments are only motivated by profit, not the environment, fuel, mileage or what's right - so profit and greed usually win.
