Two Strokes Sound Good And Go Hard

I've only owned two 4 stroke motorbikes in my life. One was a 1980 Honda XL125 and the other was a 1983 Suzuki DR125

The 2 strokes I've owned have been a 1981 Suzuki RM80, 1995 and 1997 Honda CR125's, 96 and 2001 Kawasaki KDX200, 2002 KX250, 2002 Yamaha YZ125 and now a 2006 YZ250.

As you can see I've owned all Jap brand 2 stroke bikes and I've always loved the sound and the hard hitting powerband of the 2 smokes compared to the 4 strokes. I've never ridden a late model 4 stroke MX or enduro bike so I can't really say anything on that matter, but it's a pity to see the 2's being phased out now...

The only thing I don't like about 2 strokes is pre-mixing fuel with oil. It's a bit of a pain in the ass but you get used to it after a while, long live the 2 strokes I say. If only they will be around for years and years to come but that's unlikely.

Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha are my favorite Jap brand bikes, Suzuki not so much but they are alright man.
