Valley Crash Victim

by Tyler
(Brantford, Canada)

I came up to a 75ft valley jump with about a 10ft tabletop on it and around 35ft drop. When some other rider came flying out across the track and nailed me mid-air sending me flying down from 30ft in the air all the way to the bottom. All I was thinking was "Oh F*ck..."

I don't really remember the landing as I was out for 13hours. I just remember waking up in the hospital basically with a full body cast on. The doctors told me I crushed my sternum, punctured both lungs, bruised my heart, had severe blood forced trauma, mild concussion and that every bone below my shoulders was broken. Broke both femurs in 7 spots each, shattered both ankles, collapsed all my ribs, fractured my 4th and 7th vertebrae, crushed pelvis, broke every bone in my left hand and had to have surgery on my right hand to remove bone fragments. As for the other rider, he left with a few cracked ribs and a mild concussion... Lucky him.

- Tyler... that sounds absolutely hideous. You unlucky soul! I hope you have healed now and can still ride. Thanks for sharing your dirt bike crash and pain with us.
