Walton CMRC Fall Nationals GNC (Grand National Champions)

Really quick story. Twenty years going and it's the top and final race of the year for the Canadian CMRC Pro's and amateurs. The viewing is great, you can move all around the track to get the best view of any track I have ever been to. The jumps are huge, the drop in is 100ft plus. Twenty years of development has made this track to die for. It's mostly all natural with the jumps getting bigger over time.
Check out the website for some great pics and a history lesson about the track and bikes. Walton TransCan provides event details and entry information.
Motocross in Walton, Ontario, has certainly evolved. The Lee family took their first steps into promoting motocross at their family farm in 1974, held... www.waltontranscan.ca
This is truly a world class event. The beer is cold and the whole town just loves having the riders and spectators. They go all out with banners welcoming everyone on every road coming to town.
Next year at age 45 I am going to try and place in the veteran class. I haven't raced in 20 years and I've spent the last 2 years getting back into race mode. Now my son is 11 and has raced for 1 year - myself being the coach, mechanic, driver and sponsor. Now it's my turn to race again. Luckily I am blessed with having 3 tracks all within 2 hours - Gopher Dunes 40 mins South (all sand track), The Pit (all natural hard pack with some sand sections), and Walton 1.5 hours North.
So.. happy riding to everyone and keep the shiny side up.
- You've sold me! I've just added it to the growing list of 'things I need to experience before I bite the dust'. That sounds like an awesome event to be a spectator. Good luck with the Vets.
