Why A KTM 350f And Not A 250 Two Stroke

by H
(Leicester)

It seems mad to me that KTM invested so much money in developing the 350cc four stroke with the aim of producing a lighter bike with a revvier engine, to produce a power to weight ratio which matched the 450's but in a more manageable way, when they have the 250cc two stroke already on the stock list. I can't see the sense. If the 450 is too big and powerful then the obvious answer is to ride the 250cc two stroke. Why bother with the expensive 350 option?

I would bet that if they put Cairoli on a 250cc two stroke he would be just as quick as on the 350cc four stroke.
