XR650R Discontinued From Production With No Replacement

Honda discontinued production of the XR650R, which I think is one of, if not the best model off-road bike they ever produced. I'm sure many of you would agree. It is a bullet-proof powerful and extremely reliable bike.

I have a 2003 XR650R and had absolutely no problems or issues with it. Just regular oil & filter changes and maintenance. It eats rear tires but thats to be expected, lol. Mine has been uncorked and the Honda Power-up kit installed, FMF Powerbomb headers and Powercore 4 muffler, and Hotcams stage one camshaft installed. Lots of power and runs great, as said before it's very reliable with no problems or issues. By far hands down the best bike I ever owned!

I don't understand why Honda dropped the 650R from production when it was such a successful bike, and with no replacement for it when the competition is producing big-bore open-class off-road bikes??

Hopefully Honda got something up their sleeve, a new CRF700X sounds like a winner to me! Come on Honda we're all waiting, don't let your loyal fans down!

Electric Leg

I have never ridden an XR 650 but I concur with your comments. The type of riding I do (dual sport) is better suited to an electric start machine. The only letdown of this bike. So I am still looking at the KTM690 Enduro.
